Procon for BF3: Development in progress
The beta has begun!
Two days ago DICE and i3D.net set us up with a BF3 beta test server with full rcon access. After initial connection problems everything is up and running now. Testing Procon and iOS Procon with the BF3 server have begun and mostly everything is looking pretty good. Some parts of the remote access interface like the map sequencer remain deliberately locked at the moment – probably to keep us from using Procon to check out the “Caspian Border”.
A minor issue is that the BF3 rcon protocol still seems to have some bugs/glitches which result in some player status updates, the ingame-chat and the battle map not working correctly at the moment. According to DICE the next server software update which hopefully fixes some of the known problems will be available this weekend.
Stay tuned for more updates on the blog …

Yeah, right up until they ditched in-game squad management in favour of parties that need to be pre-arranged in a browser. We now need a Procon plugin to allow players to choose squads!

Thankfully yes but at the time they’d said it was all via Battlelog.
