“Close Quarters” coming soon with new rcon features
According to DICE the “Close Quarters” update which is expected to be released on the 12th of June will also introduce some new rcon features (R25).
Mainly we can expect a working join queue which distinguishes between vip players (which are selected by the server administrators via a reserved slot / vip list), premium players (players who bought the battlefield premium upgrade) and regular players.
We are already working to implement those new features into all available versions of Procon. Stay tuned…

I see some servers with the Close Quarters maps already loaded. I tried to load them in Procon but they won’t go in. Is there a trick to getting the maps ready now?

Get the administration docu for the R25 patch and insert the map names incl. modes in the startup.txt of your game server and then restart. Works fine and shows the maps. Your server should run R25 patch. Without it shows normal BF3 maps.

Is this mean the ‘reserved slots’ is going to be working? How about the map zone stuff / map image stuff?

Reserved already work, they have been on our server since the last patch.

Great, finally now can start makin’ some money. Next big thing will be the map zones. guess we have to wait for Battlefield 3 Plantitum.

R26 is already out (for eg at Gaming Deluxe). Hope we will get an updated PRoCon version soon…

The vote map plug in wont work it doesn’t reconize the new game modes.

…. Really!! So it’s like Dice just sprung close quaters on frostbite procon and no warning was given. Why wasn’t an update available for the procon suite, when R26 was released? Procon is a awesome admin suite ….but really!

If you visit our forum you will find your answers very quick, or in case you ask them there will get it.

Just hit “check for updates” in the tools menu and procon will fetch all what is needed to be R-24 to R-26 compatible, the BF3.def file. It also will inform you that you have to restart Procon to actually use the new file.
This should also be done on your layer host if you use one. Or upload the BF3.def to it.

There is no risk in trying it.
Since R-25 the server will act with the settings procon was able to from day one of BF3.

You were too early. To have that maps loaded you needed a least a server with R-25.
At that time most servers still weren’t updated by the hosting GSPs.

hello, i have a new server, and I am BF Premium, but the regular players can´t enter my server, anyone knows how to fix it?
