Procon for BF3 available for download now!
Procon 1.1 is now downloadable on phogue.net!
Phogue is returning from DICE in Stockholm/Sweden where he worked together with Mikael Kalms on the BF3 server rcon interface to the last minute. They managed to implement a new maplist that will let you mix game modes leaving the known restrictions from Bad Company 2 behind. Even though they did their very best Procon’s full functionality will not be available from day one – for some features (e.g. battle map, plugins, reserved slots…) the BF3 server rcon interface will have to be further modified and expanded – DICE and of course the Procon team will continue to work hard on this in the following weeks.

Please also check this forum post for more information.
iOS Procon for BF3 will probably be released in about a week!
After some last tests that need to be performed in the next 3-4 days it will enter the Apple App Review process which will hopefully only take a couple of days before the App will actually be available for download on the App Store.
Stay tuned..
Procon Goes to Sweden!
In order to make sure admin tools are properly supported for the release of BF3, DICE have flown Phogue from his home in Aussie Land, all the way to cold chilly Sweden.
Over the next 2 weeks, while in Sweden he will be meeting and working with the DICE team, in order to move the RCON interface along to a usable state for the launch of BF3.
Phogue and the rest of the Procon team would like to put a special thanks out to Mikael Kalms for all of his efforts working with third party developers for all of DICE’s products.
Preview: iOS Procon BF3 Edition
While the beta is still in progress and work on the BF3 versions of Procon continues we’d like to give you a first preview of the upcoming Procon BF3 Edition for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
iOS Procon for BF3 serves as a standalone remote administration tool for (PC-Version) ‘Battlefield 3′ game servers. Using a direct connection to your game server it provides you with complete control over your settings, lists, map rotations, lets you browse logs and event lists, chat and interact with the players on your server. Furthermore it is of compatible with the Procon layer server architecture. Logging onto a layer server lets you take advantage of Procon’s sub-admin account management and plugins even on your iOS device.
Top new features of the BF3 Edition:
- Universal App supporting iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, supporting all display orientations and retina display
- App fully prepared for in-app language localization
- Improved App navigation using a tab bar on the bottom of the screen which gives you fast access to the most important features of the App
- Extensive server information screen combined with easy to access round and map commands
- Improved player list with better screen usage and direct access to the player related commands directly in the list
- More readable colorful combined comannd, chat&events and punkbuster console
- An all new Battlemap feature known from Procon for Windows
More updates on the development progress will follow – so stay tuned …
Procon for BF3: Development in progress
The beta has begun!
Two days ago DICE and i3D.net set us up with a BF3 beta test server with full rcon access. After initial connection problems everything is up and running now. Testing Procon and iOS Procon with the BF3 server have begun and mostly everything is looking pretty good. Some parts of the remote access interface like the map sequencer remain deliberately locked at the moment – probably to keep us from using Procon to check out the “Caspian Border”.
A minor issue is that the BF3 rcon protocol still seems to have some bugs/glitches which result in some player status updates, the ingame-chat and the battle map not working correctly at the moment. According to DICE the next server software update which hopefully fixes some of the known problems will be available this weekend.
Stay tuned for more updates on the blog …
SITREP!
We’re getting a lot of questions, especially BF3 related concerns. I thought I should post up and explain the projects direction, goals and timelines. Hopefully this entry will answer some of your questions. If you notice these question elsewhere then link em to this post for some answers.
Bee-Eff-Free is *only* 1 month away!!!!
We’re still waiting for the beta to be released, dice/i3D to give us access to a server as well as (and most importantly) a stable documented rcon protocol to work from. Implementation of Bf3, given a highly similar protocol to BFBC2/MoH:2010 is expected to take a day with a further day of bug fixing and config generating. Map calibration for the battlemap is expected to occur when we have access to all of the maps.
There really isn’t a major hurry and no one is responsible for any delay, chillax. You’ll get BF3 support asap
Version/Licenses/Game support.. Procon 2?
Here’s a graph of today, the day of the BF3 release and some time next year. Note that everything is okay on these dates

Nothing’s actually happening though is it?
Today I filed the papers to incorporate my own company. This company will be selling licenses to those that charge you for hosting our software. Aaron “feeblemedic” our officially unofficial lawyer has been getting whipped by Mark “Ike Ikerson Rodriguez”, our resident slave driving physicist. Aaron’s been crafting an awesome license for us to use that is so insanely close to being done we’re wondering if Ike is being lazy.
Ike’s also been in contact with Procon hosts that are seemingly coming out of the woodwork. I know a lot of you use this software, but you’d be surprised how many people have this software hosted. I am, what the hell have I been doing for the past year and half?
What’s Imisnew2 doing?
He’s in Japan. He’s either bludging or he’s studying abroad for a year. I think he’s just bludging though.
bludge [bl?d?] Austral and NZinformal
vb1.(when intr, often foll by on) to scrounge from (someone)2.(intr) to evade work3.(intr)Archaic to act as a pimpna very easy task; undemanding employment
What’s Phogue doing?
Done with uni. Bored every second of it. Now I’m working at Kojo. I do stuff like this with my time now. I’ve got about 10 different projects on the go. Procon, Metabans (kinda.. its boring now), work stuff, android stuff and even facial recognition stuff for marine life.. no shit.
What about the… “other people”?
Morpheus is still admining, Phil’s still being German and Decker’s plotting world domination with his awesome work on the next iteration/version/release (he’ll post up here soon about this confusion). Zaeed donned the Admin hat here as well in the past couple of months. I don’t have the time to do stuff like that and he sets a far better company image than I ever could.
Ike’s also getting shafted on credit for some side projects of mine. I’m not even going to tell you here what the projects were as well. I’ve purposefully left his name out on a few things so I alone get the glory of knowing 1′st year remedial physics
For the most part though, the “nothing immediately urgent is happening” alarms are going off. Everything is happening in the timeline I wanted and I’m in no hurry. We have some deadlines (25′th October) that we’ll meet, but other than that we’re pretty much twiddling our thumbs till next month. It’s going to be chaotic and awesome
Announcement: Procon to support Battlefield 3!
Procon is getting ready for BF3!!!
